-en（-n 為其變形）接在物質名詞之後作形容詞用，帶有「由……製成、組合而成」的意思。-en 也可用來表示「小」，如：kitten（小貓）；或少數的名詞複數，如：children、oxen（公牛），以及一些不規則動詞的過去分詞，如：taken、proven 等。
